Representatives: The council obtained the “ISO” enhances Bahrain’s position as an environmentally leading country

Representatives stressed that the council obtained the accreditation of the “ISO 14001: 2015” application for environmental management systems, which puts the Bahraini parliament in the forefront of legislative institutions regionally in the field of environmental management, as it is the first parliament in the Middle East and the Asian continent to obtain this accreditation, enhances Bahrain’s position as a leading state in adhering to international environmental standards.

They explained that this qualitative achievement is added to the series of distinguished Bahraini achievements, in light of the comprehensive development march led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, and the support and follow -up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The First Deputy Speaker of the Council, Abd al -Nabi Salman, stressed that the Council, in light of the royal sponsorship of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, continues to work and achieve, according to strategic plans, projects, initiatives and qualitative programs, contributing to strengthening its legislative and supervisory role, and providing a prominent model in supporting national and civilizational trends.

He praised the council to obtain the accreditation of the “ISO 14001: 2015” application for environmental management systems, and with continuous support from the Speaker of Parliament Ahmed Al -Muslim, and the efforts of the General Secretariat under the supervision of the Secretary -General of the Council, Muhammad al -Sisi Al -Buainain.

Salman pointed out that this achievement enhances Bahrain’s position as a leading country in adhering to global environmental standards, and highlighting the role of the House of Representatives as the first council in the Middle East region and the Asian continent to obtain this accreditation.

While the second deputy to the Speaker of the Council, Ahmed Qaralata, expressed congratulations to the Speaker of the Council, Ahmed Al -Muslim, and to the Secretary -General of the Council, Muhammad Al -Sisi Al -Buainain, on the occasion of the council obtaining the accreditation of the “ISO 14001: 2015” application.

He pointed out that the work of the council is witnessing a clear technical development in electronic work and digital transformation, compatible with the royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country.

In turn, the head of the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee, Mahmoud Verdun, stressed that the House of Representatives’ interest in environmental management systems projects would enhance the council’s commitment to environmental responsibility and enhance confidence in its practices and procedures, as a leading legislative institution in the field of sustainability.

He also congratulated the Speaker of the House of Representatives, on his continuous support for developing parliamentary work in accordance with the requirements and developments of the times, and in a way that contributes to upgrading the achievements of the legislative authority in order to serve the country and citizens.

Verdun praised the efforts of the Secretary -General of the House of Representatives, and the continuous follow -up to provide quality technical projects, aimed at developing the institutional work environment according to the highest modern standards.

The Chairman of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee, Ahmed Al -Salloum, stressed that this qualitative achievement enhances operational efficiency, achieves tangible financial savings, improving resource use, and setting multiple opportunities to reduce costs, such as rationalizing energy and water consumption within the council building and reducing operational expenditures, thus converting environmental responsibility into a smart economic investment that benefits the council budget.

He drew attention to this success, in implementation of the royal vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, and in line with the government’s efforts headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, in developing work and achievement, achieving the economic vision 2030, and the sustainable development goals.

In turn, the head of the Public Utilities and Environment Committee, Mohamed Al -Balushi, explained that the council obtained the approval of the “ISO 14001: 2015” application, confirms the technical and technological development in the parliamentary work in Bahrain, in light of the comprehensive development process of His Majesty the King of the country.

While the Vice -Chairman of the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee, Ali Al -Dossary, stressed that the council obtained the “ISO 14001: 2015”, embodies a model for effective cooperation between the authorities in the Kingdom to achieve the sustainable development goals.

He added that this achievement comes as a qualitative and distinct addition, to Bahrain’s efforts to adhere to environmental and international standards and strategic plans in the field of work and the environment, in light of the comprehensive development process of His Majesty’s presence.

To that, the Vice -Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee, Hassan Ibrahim, indicated that the work of the House of Representatives is witnessing a continuous development in electronic work and investing human energies in supporting parliamentary work, with the aim of accelerating the achievement and reaching the desired goals, in order to achieve the royal aspirations of His Majesty the King of the country, and the efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

While the Vice -Chairman of the Services Committee, Mohamed Al -Alaiwi, said: “One of the most important goals of the project is to reduce the environmental impact of the activities and operations of the council, which includes improving sustainable management of natural resources such as water and energy, and providing an institutional framework for the council to determine and manage its environmental imprint in a proactive manner.”

In addition, the Vice -Chairman of the Public Utilities and Environment Committee, Badr Al -Tamimi, stressed that this achievement that places the House of Representatives at the forefront of legislative institutions regionally in the field of environmental management, as it is the first parliament in the Middle East and the Asian continent obtains this accreditation, it enhances Bahrain’s position as a leading country in adhering to global environmental standards.

On the other hand, a member of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee, Basma Mubarak, affirmed that this achievement gives the House of Representatives more credibility and confidence at the national and international levels, and demonstrates the commitment of the legislative institution to international standards in environmental management, and reflects transparency and high governance, and enhances the Kingdom’s role as a reliable partner in global efforts to face environmental challenges.

A member of the Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee, Maryam Al -Dhawan, stressed that this accreditation is directly corresponding to the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, which focuses on sustainability and environmental balance.

In addition, a member of the Services Committee, Mamdouh Al -Saleh, stressed that this project is a practical step towards embodying the concept of “green parliament”, which focuses on integrating sustainable environmental practices in the legislative and administrative processes of parliamentary institutions.
