Statistics and numbers issued by the Central Philippine Bank indicated that the Kingdom of Bahrain is the lowest in the value of the Filipino workers’ remittances, as during the first five months of the current year it reached 108.19 million dollars, an increase of 2.45% from last year in the same period. On the other hand, the UAE recorded 9.20%annual growth rate.
Statistics indicated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia came at the top of the Filipino labor transfers with a total of 875.57 million dollars during the first five months of this year, an increase of 7.17% over the same period last year, as the value of the transformations was 817.01 million dollars.
The bank’s data showed the increase in the value of the Filipino labor remittances from the six Gulf countries during the first five months of 2025 by about 6.34% on an annual basis, to constitute 96.27% of the total transfers of this employment from the Middle East.
According to the statistic, the value of the Filipino labor remittances from the six Gulf countries during the aforementioned period amounted to about 2.32 billion dollars, compared to $ 2.18 billion in the same period in 2024.
Filipino transfers from the six Gulf states are 96.27% of their total volume of transfers from the Middle East, which are estimated at $ 2.41 billion. In addition, Filipino labor remittances from the Gulf countries represented 41.25% of their total transfers from Asia, which amounted to 5.62 billion dollars during the first five months of 2025. According to the statistics based on the statements of the Central Philippine Bank, the value of Filipino labor from all countries of the world increased to 13.77 billion dollars during the mentioned period, where 16.84% of them were from the Gulf countries, compared to 13.37 billion dollars in the same period in 2024.
These transfers are of great importance in the Philippines, which is one of the largest exporting countries of employment globally, as the Gulf countries receive a large part of the Filipino workers, coinciding with the start of many major projects in the region and hosting them for international events.
