The Syrian city of As -Suwayda prevailed, on Sunday, after the Ministry of Interior announced the ceasefire, and the Druze fighters regained control of the city. This came after a week of violence, killing more than a thousand people and displacing tens of thousands, amid regional and international interventions to contain the crisis.
Syrian Interior: Restore calm and the application of a ceasefire
The Syrian Interior Minister, Anas Khattab, said that the Internal Security Forces succeeded in calming the situation and deployed in the north and west of the endosperm, and the ministry spokesman, Noureddine Al -Baba, confirmed that the city was evacuated from the tribal fighters.
Despite the spread of security points, the city’s shooting continued on Saturday, while the Syrian Observatory stated that Druze factions expelled the fighters from the province, in parallel with a regional agreement to prevent escalation, in which the United States, Turkey and Jordan participated.
Humanitarian aid enter the endosperm amid tension over the government delegation
A convoy of humanitarian aid from the Syrian Red Crescent entered the endosperm, but Sheikh Hikmat Al -Hijri, the spiritual leader of the Druze community, refused to accompany the government delegation to the convoy, and allowed the entry of the Red Crescent only, which led to the return of the delegation to Damascus.
The Ministry of Health had prepared the convoy in advance, but it was unable to enter due to the Israeli bombing. The convoy includes 20 ambulances, medical teams and medicine, and safe corridors were secured for the National Hospital after the ceasefire application.
International statements: Syria is at a crossroads
The American special envoy to Syria, Tom Barak, said that “Syria is going through a critical stage” and demanded an immediate cessation of fighting and rejecting revenge. In turn, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio Damascus called for the prevention of “jihadists” from entering southern Syria, describing what is happening as “the ongoing massacre.”
Various positions of Druze and clans
The “Karama Men” faction announced that the city was free of Bedouin fighters, while the South clans gathering called for a comprehensive and immediate ceasefire, while ensuring the return of the displaced and the opening of the dialogue channels. They emphasized that the fighting was only self -defense.
For its part, the spiritual presidency of the Druze called for the cessation of fighting and resorting to the voice of reason and humanity, stressing that the mountain was always a refuge for the oppressed.
Official statements and warning of external exploitation
The head of the transitional phase, Ahmed Al -Shara, said that Israel’s intervention moved the country to a dangerous situation. He pointed out that some of the internal factions misused the endosperm in international conflicts, adding that the state’s withdrawal from some areas opened the door to violations against the Bedouins, which prompted the clans to move to break the siege.
Horror numbers: More than a thousand dead and 128 thousand displaced people
The Syrian Observatory reported the killing of 336 Druze fighters and 298 Druze civilians, 194 of whom were executed in the field, in addition to the killing of 342 members of the Ministry of Defense and Security, and 21 tribesmen. The Israeli raids killed 15 members of the government forces.
According to the International Organization for Migration, more than 128,000 people, of whom 43,000 were displaced in just one day, reflecting the size of the human disaster left by a week of fighting in As -Suwayda.
