Major General Moheb Habashi, the Governor of Port Said, received today, Ahmed Amawi, head of the Customs Authority, in the context of enhancing joint cooperation between Port Said Governorate and the Customs Authority, and discussing mechanisms for developing and governance of work procedures at customs outlets in the governorate.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed ways to support the state’s efforts in developing the customs system and applying best practices in the field of governance and control, in order to ensure the facilitation of trade movement, increase customs release rates, and achieve the highest rates of transparency and discipline.

Major General Moheb Habashi stressed the importance of permanent coordination with the concerned authorities, especially the Customs Authority, to secure the outlets and facilitate customs procedures in a way that supports the movement of import and export, and contributes to enhancing the position of Port Said as a pivotal port and an integrated logistical center.
For his part, the head of the Customs Authority praised the fruitful cooperation with Port Said Governorate, and emphasized the continuation of efforts to develop customs work through the application of modern digital systems and the training of cadres working in the outlets on the latest technical systems.
