Statistics of Ports and Maritime Navigation Affairs revealed the issuance of 188 commercial licenses, 1146 departure certificates, and 35 inspection operations during the first half of 2025, while Khalifa Port received 22,226 vehicles and 428 ships.
The statistics published on the Ministry’s website showed that the number of commercial containers that arrived at Khalifa Bin Salman Port during the first half of this year amounted to 191,268 stereotypes, and 270,950 tons of general goods.
Ports and marine navigation affairs are concerned with issuing the necessary licenses for commercial activities assigned to marine services, which relate to operating industrial private sidewalks, passenger transport berths, ship agents and other other marine services, and the period of license is two years from the date of issuance, and the license is subject to renewal in accordance with the relevant ministerial laws and decisions.
Ports and maritime navigation affairs are also carried out within the framework of its supervisory and regulatory tasks, searches periodically for all special sidewalks, in order to ensure their commitment to the requirements and to apply the standards set by port and maritime navigation affairs, the most important of which are safety and security standards, environmental protection and operational standards.
It is noteworthy that in Bahrain there are more than 30 special berths that provide many qualitative services, and the licensed private sidewalks also serve the various industries that include oil, gas, construction, marine services and marine shipping. These facilities are concentrated in the main industrial areas of the Kingdom of Bahrain: North Sitra Industrial Zone, Salman Industrial Port Region, Salman Industrial City, and Ras Zuweid. These sidewalks are located in appropriate locations that qualify them to serve the port and maritime transport sector, as it ensures the ease of conducting all logistical operations related to smoothly.
