On the level of the third stage of the project, which includes the implementation of 1,269 housing units, the completion rates exceeded 10%, which is the proportion of candidate for progress during the next stage according to the schedule for the implementation of this stage, which is the largest stage in terms of the number of units in the housing city, and the last in the stages of implementing the Sitra housing city project, and the ministry had previously delivered all units of the first stage, which includes 1,077 housing units, in addition to To deliver residential vouchers to the project to the beneficiaries.
This came during the field visit made by the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning to the housing city of Sitra, to follow up the progress of work in the construction of housing units in the second and third stages, in addition to seeing the developments of projects to provide secondary infrastructure services in the presence of a number of officials in the ministry and the engineering and technical team.
During the visit, Minister Amna Al -Rumaihi indicated that the work methodology that the Ministry follows in implementing the stages of the housing city of Sitra in cooperation with the Chinese company “CMEC” is based on the coincidence of the implementation of projects to provide infrastructure services with construction work, ensuring the speed of delivery of units and residential vouchers to the beneficiaries as soon as the completion rates are completed, which are the methodology that was applied in the first stage and the project of housing vouchers, which were delivered Once the construction works are completed.
The Minister also indicated that the second and third phases witness the implementation of a developed design for housing units, inspired by the citizens’ observations during the questionnaires that were held earlier by the ministry, and a number of units in the two stages were designed in proportion to those with special needs, praising the efforts and cooperation of the Chinese company “CIMC” in implementing all stages of the project, and continuous response to the Ministry’s notes and development requirements that are being done It is constantly applying.
Minister Al -Rumaihi noted that the development of the housing city of Sitra project in terms of achievement rates, confirms the government’s keenness to quickly provide housing for citizens, whether by completing the implementation of housing cities projects, or through financing options and partnership programs with the private sector that provide immediate housing solutions, noting that the Sitra housing city project is a basic pillar within the projects listed for implementation in the government program 2023-2026, and the state’s general budget for the two financial years 2023-2024 and 2025-2026.
It is worth noting that the housing city project is one of the main projects that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning works to implement, within a modern residential environment that provides various basic services and community facilities such as schools, health and commercial centers, mosques and gardens, in order to enhance the stability of the Bahraini family.
