The Israeli army said on Sunday that it attacked the Houthi group targets in the ports of Hodeidah and the Israeli Air Force implementing an air strike targeting the “Galaxy Lider” shipping ship, which has been held since 2023 by the Houthi militia in the Red Sea. The Houthis say that Galaxy Leader is an Israeli ship, and they took it from the waters of the Red Sea to Hodeidah as part of a campaign to prevent commercial ships from going to Israel in solidarity with the Gaza Strip. Israel said it is owned by Britain and managed by Japan. This process is a remarkable development within the military escalation associated with regional tensions in the region, especially with regard to the security of maritime navigation in the Bab al -Mandab Strait. The ship was under the control of the Houthis as part of the piracy operations that destroyed the global trade movement, amid repeated international condemnation of these violations.
