On the occasion of the celebration of the International Day to Combat Trading Persons for the year 2025, the General Administration of Investigations and Forensic Evidence held a workshop in which specialists participated from within the Kingdom of Bahrain under the title: (The efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in combating trafficking in persons … preserving its 7 -year -old pioneering position in the US State Department report.
At the beginning of the workshop, Colonel Abdel -Wahab Rashid Bouneshi, Director of the Department of Combating Human Trading and Protection of Public Literature in the General Administration of Investigations and Criminal Evidence, confirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain continues in its efforts to address the crime of trafficking in people, and that the celebration of the Kingdom of Bahrain this year comes as distinct due to the Kingdom’s preservation in the first category to combat trafficking in persons for the seventh year in a row in the US State Department report.
The Director of the Anti -Trafficking Department expressed his thanks and appreciation to the President and members of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking Persons for their great efforts and fruitful cooperation between all sides to preserve the achievements of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of combating trafficking in persons, as well as thanking all employees of the Department of Combating Human Trade in the General Administration of Investigations and Criminal Evidence for their efforts, which reflects the ongoing efforts made by all parties in the Kingdom of Bahrain and on top of it The Ministry of Interior to consolidate the values of human rights without discrimination due to religion, language or race, as well as an actual translation of the policies and directions of the Ministry of Interior in this field, and all of these efforts prove that the Kingdom of Bahrain is keen to consolidate its position in combating this crime based on its principles, culture and authentic Arab and Islamic ethics.
The workshop included a working paper presented by His Excellency Dr. Ambassador Arwa Hassan Al -Sayed, Head of the Human Rights Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in which it dealt with the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as one of the basic pillars to combat the crime of human trafficking, and also touched on the aspects of cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all members of the National Committee to Combat Human Trade in order to achieve the Kingdom’s vision to combat that crime, as well as reviewing the international agreements that the Kingdom of Bahrain implemented in the field of combating that crime.
The workshop also included the paper of the Supreme Judicial Council, which was presented by Judge Muhammad Hisham Al -Ma’awid, during which he reviewed the judicial efforts to combat this crime in order to achieve criminal justice.
For his part, Mr. Abdul Rahman Hamad Al -Mannai, head of the prosecution, reviewed the public prosecutor’s working paper, through which the prosecution’s efforts in the field of combating that crime and the most prominent statistics of the Public Prosecution and highlighting the great role that the Public Prosecution plays to achieve justice and bring the perpetrators to trial, especially since the Kingdom of Bahrain is one of the first countries to establish a special prosecution for this type of crime, pointing to the existing cooperation between the Public Prosecution and members Persons.
After that, His Excellency Mrs. Ayeshat, Ihham Sharif, head of the International Organization for Immigration Organization to the Kingdom of Bahrain, presented a working paper in which he reviewed the organization’s efforts as well as the existing cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain and extended sincere thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom for its permanent cooperation with the office.
The workshop included working papers presented by a number of specialists from various governmental and private agencies in the Kingdom of Bahrain, during which they reviewed the efforts of these bodies in combating the crime of trafficking in persons, in addition to their role in enhancing cooperation and coordination with the various concerned authorities in this field with the aim of unifying efforts in combating this crime.
