Participation is available for authors, painters and publishers from different countries of the world
The International Prize for Arab Child Literature submitted by “E and End”, which is organized by the UAE Council for Advisors, continues to receive participants in its seventeenth session until August 31, 2025. The Council called on the authors, painters and publishers from different countries of the world to present their creative works in the Arabic language, through the official website of the award, in the framework of its efforts aimed at supporting Arab creativity in the field of child literature, and promoting the presence of the Arabic book for children And adolescents in the global cultural scene.
The International Prize for Arab Child Literature is one of the most prominent initiatives that contribute to upgrading the literature of the Arab child, with its comprehensive vision that combines content quality, richness of language and the depth of thesis. The award has succeeded, since its inception, to turn into a real platform for discovering talents and caring for creators, and also helped stimulate Arab publishing houses to produce books characterized by attractiveness, creativity and innovation, and takes into account the cultural privacy of the Arab region within high technical standards.
The total value of the award is 1.2 million dirhams, divides between five main categories that include the various ages (5-18 years) and the prizes are distributed equally between the author, the painter and the publisher in four categories, while the “adolescent” category award is awarded to the author and publishers only. The award also allocated an amount of 300 thousand dirhams to support specialized training programs, which aim to rehabilitate and develop young Arab talents working in the fields of writing, drawing and publishing for children and adolescents, in order to keep pace with international standards and enhance cultural identity.
The award categories include this year: “early childhood” for children from birth to five years, “photographer” for the age group from 5 to 9 years, “Book of Chapters” from 9 to 12 years, and “The Book of Advisors” for the category from 13 to 18 years, in addition to the changing category for this year which is “realistic books dedicated to distinguished Arabic works that inspire curiosity, enhance critical thinking, and are presented Realistic content with innovative, attractive and suitable methods for the target age group.
It is required in the advanced works to be original, written in Arabic, and is published in the past five years, and has never won any other awards, nor should it be violated by publishing rights or intellectual property. The prize does not accept manuscripts, educational books, chains, electronic or audio versions, and participation is required through an official registered publishing house, and it is not allowed to be re -presented books previously nominated in previous sessions. The jury also reserves the right to block the award or exclude any work that does not meet the conditions.
The award called on all workers in the manufacture of the child’s book in Arabic to participate in their works, which mix literary creativity and educational value, and contribute to building a reader, conscious, and loving generation of Arabic, through the award website: https://uaebby.org.ae/iaacl, by submitting a photocopy of the participating book, with mentioning the name of the applicant, and taking into account the provision of all the required data in the approved electronic model.
The winners are scheduled to be announced during the opening ceremony of the Sharjah International Book Fair 2025, where the winning works will be honored in a festive atmosphere in which a group of writers and publishers will participate in the state and outside the country. This comes as a culmination of the continuous award of the award in supporting the Arab publishing industry for children, and in confirmation of the UAE’s continuous commitment to upgrading the culture of the Arab child and enhancing the role of the book in developing the awareness of generations.
