Engineer Mohamed Shimi, Minister of Public Business Sector, confirmed that the Holding Company for Metal Industries, through Al -Nasr Motors Company, is intensifying its efforts to launch the first electric car in the Egyptian market before the end of this year 2025.
An electric car at reasonable prices and promoting the national industry
Shimi explained, during his periodic meeting with the journalists in the presence of Cairo 24, that the upcoming electric car will be characterized by an appropriate price compared to its quality, as this step reflects the state’s direction towards strengthening the national industry and turning towards clean and sustainable means of transportation, in line with global trends to preserve the environment.
An ambitious plan to expand the tourism sector
On the other hand, the Minister of Public Business Sector indicated that the ministry puts among its priorities to expand in the tourism sector, through an ambitious plan aimed at establishing about 600 tourist rooms within one year, up to 2,500 rooms within three years.
Shemi added that the coming period will witness the opening of a number of new hotels, most notably the “Shepherd” and “Intercontinental” hotel. Other hotel projects will also be expanded to enhance the capacity of the hotel sector and achieve sustainable economic returns.
These statements show the commitment of the Ministry of Public Business Sector to support the local industry and the development of the tourism sector, which contributes to achieving the sustainable development goals in Egypt.
