The Ministry of Health said that the decision came after recording the deaths of this week between patients suffering from chronic diseases, which raises the total deaths associated with Kofid-19 in the country since the beginning of 2025 to six cases.

According to the official for public health monitoring, Lorenzo Pavon, “the number of recorded injuries has already exceeded the total injuries last year,” noting that there were five new suspected cases that were admitted to the Escolala Hospital in the capital, Tigusagalba.

According to the official data, 654 cases were recorded in the beginning of the year to July, compared to only 596 injuries in the same period last year.

The new procedures, which have started to be implemented since Thursday, obligate citizens to wear masks inside hospitals, airports, banks, shopping centers, schools and public transport, and in any closed or overcrowded places. The government also announced the activation of work from home for some employees in government agencies as a temporary preventive measure.

The Ministry of Health called on citizens to complete their vaccinations against Kovid-19 and influenza, and to ensure personal hygiene such as washing hands and using antiseptics, and heading to medical centers as soon as any respiratory symptoms appear.

The ministry confirmed that it is closely monitoring the developments of the epidemiological situation, warning of the possibility of imposing more restrictions if the number of injuries continues to rise. She also stressed the importance of educating citizens and following up on the new interlocutor’s interlocutors to ensure control of the spread of infection.
