The science of history is one of the important sciences and fields of human and social knowledge, and it is the record of life and achievements of peoples, countries and nations. As for its subject, according to Ibn Khaldun, it is man and time: “It is the art of dear doctrine, the benefit of benefits, the sheriff of the end, the poutests and the traveler are drawn to him” and accept his reading and knowledge, and take experiences, experiences and lessons from scholars, teachers, philosophers, leaders, statesmen and other people,
However, this science, and this dear cognitive field, has been injured by injustice and injustice; As most of the specialists did not focus on its significance and objectives, except for what is rare, and many of them were satisfied with the information, years of events, names of personalities, and accidents.
What made it more complicated is that some amateurs, who are far from the field of history science and non -specialists in it, have fought in it authorship, teaching and theoretical, without adequate knowledge of the concepts of this science and its dimensions and its significance, nor the methodology of historical research and its origins, and their failure to possess the skills of reading the texts contained in historical sources or analyzing and criticizing them, or absorbing and developing historical results and connotations from them, And use it scientifically. A number of those interested in good faith, and perhaps motivated by enthusiasm, have participated in this direction, despite the lack of offering sometimes to the required accuracy and depth. The matter was not limited to this, but some of these incomplete or false readings were adopted and repeated in literature and lectures as if they were Muslim, so they contributed to distorting the facts of history. The matter did not stop there.
Perhaps we are setting an example that shows the importance of proper employment of historical incidents and devising their connotations, through the incident of the reception of the people of Bahrain for Islam after the arrival of the message of the Prophet ﷺ to Al -Mundhir Bin Sawi Al -Tamimi, in the hands of the Hadrami. The response of the people of Bahrain was quickly and positively, as many of them entered Islam with conviction and faith, and even spreading Islam in the region widely, which indicates that this acceptance was not a coincidence or awe, but rather the result of a cultural, social and economic environment.
Bahrain, by virtue of its geographical location, was in constant contact with multiple civilizations and cultures, and its people practiced trade and various economic activities, which refined their personality, and introduced them to various religions and intellectual concepts. This openness is a foundation for the culture of accepting the other, dialogue, and religious tolerance, which made them eligible to accept Islam smoothly. The local leadership also played a decisive role in this transformation, as Al -Mundhir bin Sawi was one of the owners of wisdom and influence, so his Islam had a great role in entering other tribes in Islam. This incident is not read just for documentation, but for employment. It carries a strong message about societal awareness and civilization openness, through which pride can be enhanced in the history of the people of Bahrain, and affirming their positive role in the path of Islam and Arab Islamic civilization.
Here, the importance of reading history is manifested by a conscious scientific reading, which does not stop at the apparent texts or novels, but rather deepens its contexts and analyzes its data. Only through that we can consolidate confidence in our history, establish our identity, strengthen national and cultural affiliation, and inspire from history live lessons for the present and the future. The Almighty said: “In their stories, a cross for the first of the doors, and one of the thinkers said:“ The Lord of a lesson in history built a nation. ”
