Under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Authority for Sports, Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, the Kingdom of Bahrain is preparing to host the twenty -sixth edition of the Arab Basketball Championship for Men, during the period from July 25 to August 2, after the Tunisian Republic apologized for organizing the tournament.
On this occasion, Mr. Alaa Madara, President of the Bahrain Basketball Federation, expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his generous patronage, continuous support and great interest in basketball sport, stressing that this care represents a great motivation and an additional incentive towards serious work to ensure the success of this prominent Arab event.
Madara said that hosting the Kingdom of Bahrain for this ancient championship comes in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa in making Bahrain a favorite sports destination to host the various regional and international championships, noting that His Highness’s support is a pivotal element in achieving successive successes of Bahraini sports and enhancing its presence on the Arab and international sports map.
“We highly value the confidence that the Arab Basketball Federation has given us by assigning the hosting of the tournament to the Kingdom of Bahrain in a short period of time, which reflects the prestigious position that the Kingdom enjoys in terms of organizing the major sports championships.”
He added: “We pledge to everyone to provide a distinct version worthy of the history of the championship and Bahrain Sports Republic, and we continue to coordinate with the various official authorities to ensure the provision of an ideal organizational environment that meets the aspirations of the participating teams and the fans.”
The Arab Teams Championship is one of the oldest championships in the region, and it has a wide participation of the elite Arab teams, which enhances its importance as a prominent sports platform, and gives the Kingdom a new opportunity to highlight its capabilities in organizing and hosting sporting events at the highest level.
