The Ministry of Health and Population has confirmed that a number of pathological groups are more likely to develop oral and dental problems, which calls for double interest in health care and periodic follow -up with the dentist.
Heart, diabetes and immunity patients are among the groups most vulnerable to mouth and dental problems
The Ministry stated, in an awareness publication within the activities of the “100 Days of Health” initiative, that the most vulnerable groups include heart valves, cardiovascular patients, and diabetics, as well as those with HIV (HIV), and those with immunodeficiency diseases or other immune diseases.
“Health” advised citizens, especially patients of these groups, to adhere to the periodic detection of oral and dental health, noting that neglect in these aspects may lead to health complications that affect the path of the main disease.
The Ministry also stressed the importance of raising awareness of the close link between oral diseases and public body health, noting that the “100 Health Days” initiative is continuing to provide examination and awareness services to citizens for free in various governorates.
Earlier, Dr. Mohamed Al -Tayeb, Deputy Minister of Health and Population, held a meeting to discuss the latest developments in the medical tourism file and the ongoing preparations for the launch of the medical tourism platform, in addition to providing training opportunities for dentists, in the presence of Dr. Nour El Din Mustafa, member of the World Dental Congress at New York University, at the headquarters of Princess Fatima Academy for Vocational Training.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the meeting reviewed the developments that took place in the medical tourism file, and the preparations for the launch of the electronic platform for medical tourism, as it includes all treatment and logistical services, as well as discussing the overcoming of all challenges, and providing a safe work environment for doctors, and patients coming to treat abroad.
