The WhatsApp application started testing a new feature that allows its users on the Android system to set the image of their personal account directly from Facebook or Instagram without having to download it manually, indicating a clear change in the traditional way to change the images on WhatsApp.
In the past, users had to manually download the image from their other Facebook or Instagram accounts, or pick up a screenshot of it, then upload it to the WhatsApp application to appoint it as a personal image.
The new feature that was revealed in the “Wabetainfo” website report allows the use of an image of their associated accounts on Facebook or Instagram directly when changing the profile image on WhatsApp, and once the feature is activated, users will appear additional options when changing the account image, such as “using an image from Facebook” or “using an image from Instagram”, which simplifies the process greatly and saves time.
Connect accounts through the Meta Account Center
To take advantage of this new integration, users need to connect their WhatsApp account to the Meta Accounts Center, which is the central system that the company designed to manage the link between its applications, such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, and the account center provides a set of additional benefits such as:
• Sign in the unified entry.
• mutual publishing between platforms.
• Unified control settings in data and interactions.
It is important to note that connecting WhatsApp with a mitta center is completely optional, and is not automatically activated, nor does it affect the strict privacy of the WhatsApp application, which remains protected by the complete encryption system between the two parties.
When is the advantage available for users?
The new feature is currently available within the experimental version (Beta) of WhatsApp on the Android system, and according to technical reports, the general version of ordinary users is expected to be offered within the next few weeks, within the framework of a series of successive updates that enhance the bonding between dead services and facilitate the user experience.
