Egypt welcomed the declaration of French President Emmanuel Macron, the intention of his country to recognize the Palestinian state, and also expressed its great appreciation for this superior and historical step, which comes to support international efforts aimed at embodying an independent Palestinian state on the lines: June 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital.
In its statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated that the Arab Republic of Egypt is urging all the countries that have not yet taken this decision to recognize the Palestinian state, in confirmation of the international community’s commitment to reach a fair and permanent solution to the Palestinian issue, and to contribute to the consolidation of the principles of peace and justice, and in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost of which is its right to self -determination.
An end to the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinian people
Egypt stressed the importance of concerted regional and international efforts in putting an end to the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinian people, and stresses the moral and legal responsibility that rests with all members of the international community and the Security Council to intervene to stop practices, crimes and starvation policy committed by the Israeli occupation army in the occupied Palestinian territories and in a way that contributes to preserving regional and international peace and security.
