FIFA issued today, Sunday, July 13, 2025, a package of new decisions aimed at promoting the protection of players healthy and physically, on the sidelines of an official meeting that brought together the federation representatives with players around the world, in conjunction with the final of the World Cup of Clubs Championship currently held in the United States of America.

The meeting witnessed a wide consensus between “FIFA” and the representatives of the players on the necessity of restructuring the international calendar to suit the physical and psychological effort that the players make throughout the season. The most prominent approved items came as follows:
• For least 72 hours between each of two games played by the player
• An annual leave of no less than 21 days after the end of each football season
• Allocating a weekly rest day for each player
• Taking into account the conditions of long travel and climate when preparing the table of international matches
• Achieving a balance between international posts and club matches to reduce stress
These measures aim to protect players from the pressure of the increasing matches, in light of the successive international championships, and to achieve a health balance that helps sustain technical performance.

On a parallel level, the attention of football fans around the world is heading this evening, to the “Metlive” stadium in New Jersey, where the upcoming summit between Chelsea and Paris Saint -Germain in the FIFA World Cup 2025, which is the largest in the history of the tournament after its expansion to include 32 teams.
