The Bahraini Committee for Popular Heritage Sports continued its serious preparations for the launch of the eighth and largest edition of the Nasser bin Hamad season for marine heritage sports, which begins on July 25 by organizing the “Hasm al -Mourin” event, which is one of the most prominent competitions in the season.
Mr. Ahmed Al -Shamlan, Vice -President of the Nasser bin Hamad season for marine heritage sports, said that the “Heritage swimmer” is a competition for swimming in open marine waters, as it is held in an open marine atmosphere that reflects the traditional character of popular sports related to the Bahraini marine environment.
He stressed that the competition is witnessing an increasing demand from the participants, considering that this demand constitutes a clear indication of the size of the great societal interaction with the activities of the season, and at the same time reflects the growing interest in reviving the Bahraini maritime heritage through modern and attractive methods commensurate with the aspirations of various categories.
He added: “We look forward to providing a naval sporting experience that reflects the privacy of our kingdom and our national identity, and we seek that this competition be a distinct start for a season that carries a lot of diversity and suspense in its upcoming activities.”
The Nasser bin Hamad season for marine heritage sports is one of the pioneering initiatives launched by the Bahraini Committee for Popular Heritage Sports with the support and generous sponsorship of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports.
In all its previous versions, the season achieved remarkable success, as it attracted more than 15,000 participants from different groups, and contributed to the consolidation of the concepts of belonging to the national heritage and enhancing the culture of traditional sports in new generations.
The eighth season extends this year from July 25 to the middle of next November, and it includes a wide range of competitions and events that reflect the richness of the marine environment of the Kingdom, including popular rowing races, a fishing competition, and the Al -Naham competition in which the brothers from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries participate.
The Organizing Committee called on those who wish to participate in the “Heritage swimmer” competition to accelerate the registration through the Bahraini Committee for Electronic Heritage Sports, confirming its keenness to implement the highest safety and organization standards in a way that guarantees a distinctive and safe experience for all participants.
