The State Council of the People’s Republic of China issued a “plan to implement a child raising system”, according to which 3600 yuan (about 500 USD) support for each child under the age of three.
According to the plan, China will pay for children under the age of three who are born before January 1, 2025.

The Chinese State Council pointed out that “this plan was developed to implement the plans of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to improve the system of birth support and incentive mechanisms, in addition to enhancing the construction of a society appropriate to have children.”
The State Council explained that “the children born before January 1, 2025, who are under the age of three years, are calculated for them in proportion to the number of months that it is worth paying, and the subsidy is exempt from the personal income tax.”
The Chinese government announced last January that the population decreased for the third year in a row in 2024, as the total number of population reached 1.408 billion by the end of the year, a decrease of 1.39 million people compared to the previous year.
Modern China faces demographic problems, including gender imbalance and population aging. The main reason for this trend is due to the policy of “one family – one child” that applied the late 1970s, according to which families in cities were allowed to have only one child, and in the villages to have two children if the first child is female.
