The head of the prosecution, the head of the Family and Child Prosecution, Nour Shehab, met with the head of the Legal and Social Consulting Center at the Awal Women’s Association, Dr. Anisa Fakhro, within a delegation from the Awal Women’s Association on an official visit to the Public Prosecution’s headquarters, with the aim of reviewing the mechanism of the public prosecutor’s “Care” initiative and the services it provides to the targeted groups, cooperation and partnership in the areas of legal, psychological, guidance, and educational services.
The Public Prosecutor, Director of the Initiative, Fahd Al -Rumaihi, explained that during the meeting, the goals of the initiative were reviewed, and examples of social and humanitarian interventions that were implemented in cooperation with partners from government agencies and community institutions. While the director of the “sponsorship” initiative expressed his pride in this constructive visit, which resulted in the joining of the Women’s Association as a supportive partner in the initiative, as part of the joint efforts to expand the umbrella of social support in the Kingdom, and stressed that the joining of the association will enhance the ability of the initiative to reach the diversity of services provided, and will open new horizons for effective societal cooperation, in a way that serves the initiative’s goals in protecting and empowering the target groups in society.
The “Care” initiative works according to an integrative methodology based on monitoring the beneficiary cases during the consideration of the criminal case or during the implementation of the punishment at the Reform and Rehabilitation Center and then conducting social and psychological research to know the reasons for committing the crime, and if it turns out that the cause is social, psychological or economic, coordination is done with the relevant authorities, to ensure the provision of services from comprehensive support that covers social, psychological, economic, and targeted groups.
