The Islamic Research Academy in Al -Azhar stated that the scientific committees followed the reactions about what Dr. Souad Saleh stated that hashish is not like wine, and that eating it is legally permissible, and the committees reviewed the details of this statement.

The Islamic Research Academy said in a statement: hashish is one of the numerous substances that have been medical that are medical that they have been drunk and slandered, and then the fatwa was prohibited, and the scholars stated that every fabrication is forbidden, because the Prophet ﷺ said: “Every intoxicant and forbidden.” The slanderer is the drug that inherits the apathy and numbness in the organs of the body, and hashish is a fabrication of the mind and is absent for perception, and the same is the same as drugs of all kinds.
In his statement, the complex added that the law criminalizes the use and sale of hashish, stressing the need to verify the fatwas and take it from its approved official sources.
The Islamic Research Academy also explained that Dr. Souad Saleh is not affiliated with the Fatwa committees in Al -Azhar, and that what was issued about it does not express the opinion of Al -Azhar, and does not have a link to the fatwas of the institution based on the disciplined jurisprudence.
