The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry affirmed its continued performance of its pivotal role in representing the interests of the private sector and enhancing the national economic scene by providing an attractive and stimulating business environment, and adopting qualitative initiatives in line with the requirements of the market, noting that it is. She said that she worked to activate the partnership between the public and private sectors through strategic dialogues and effective initiatives aimed at unifying economic visions and developing policies supporting growth, including the Bab Bahrain Forum, as well as the completion of 22 initiatives within its strategic plan for the thirtieth session to support business and investment, also explaining that it presented its views on a number of legislation and launched the second edition of the expert bank to support the economic decision -making, and also participated in Training initiatives to develop national cadres in the health sector.
The Chamber added that, within the framework of its regional and international role, during its presidency of the Union of Arab Chambers succeeded in enhancing economic and trade relations between Arab countries and various markets of the world, through a series of initiatives, meetings and activities that aimed to open new horizons for investment and commercial cooperation and enhance Arab presence in international economic forums, stressing that its presidency of the Union represented a strategic opportunity to support the integration of joint Arab economic work, where it worked to develop communication channels between a community Arab works and its counterparts around the world, and coordinating positions towards economic challenges, as well as pushing towards the conclusion of partnerships that serve the interests of the Arab private sector and enhance its competitiveness.
The Chamber revealed its reservation on a number of legislative proposals, including: amending the Social Insurance Law and increasing the fees for foreign workers permits at double rates, given the negative effects of it on the costs of employment and investment, as well as imposing a tax on financial transfers, because of its repercussions that may lead to the unlawful transfer of funds, as the Chamber supported the amendments of the Labor Law on regulating the issue of domestic labor escape, and participated in Discussing the draft strategic stock law for goods, stressing the need not to negatively affect the efforts of the private sector in providing goods, and also welcomed the update of e -commerce laws, while emphasizing the importance of supporting investment in the digital economy and avoiding imposing restrictions that limit its growth.
She emphasized that, based on her commitment to support and empower young national competencies, she expressed her support for the proposal of the House of Representatives regarding the launch of the insinction programs that aim to enhance employment opportunities for Bahraini youth through practical training and gain the skills necessary to engage in the labor market, indicating that empowering young people represents one of the main axes in their strategy, stressing the importance of vocational training programs designed according to the needs of the actual labor market and accompanied by The requirements of priority economic sectors in order to ensure the effectiveness of these programs in addressing the skills gap and raising employment levels, pointing to their support for any national initiatives that enhance investment in human capital and support the sustainability of economic development.
