The German Audi company, a pioneer in the automotive industry, has declared a reduction in its profit expectations this year, due to the American customs duties that caused many unrest in the majority of car companies around the world.
Audi reduces its expectations due to American customs duties
According to Reuters, Audi modified her financial forecast for this year, expecting a decrease in revenue and operating margins as a result of the increase in American customs duties on imports and current restructuring costs.
These modified directives reflect concerns about competitiveness, as Audi lacks American manufacturing facilities compared to its competitors, and despite the conclusion of a trade agreement recently, continuous customs duties by 15% constitute a structural challenge for German auto companies.
