The Referees Committee of the Bahrain Football Association is studying the possibility of a Gulf training camp, as part of the preparations conducted by the committee to prepare the rulers of the arena and assistant referees and the rulers of the mouse technology for the new sports season 2025/2026.
This came, according to the Chairman of the Referees Committee of the Football Association, retired international referee Ali Al -Samaheji, who stated to “Al -Watan”, saying: “First, we support highly appreciating the confidence of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Football Association headed by Sheikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa and his deputy, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa in the Referees Committee and all its members, and on the role that the committee plays in order to achieve the goals and aspirations of the administration.”
He continued: “The committee is currently studying the establishment of a Gulf camp for the referees within the program of preparations for the new sports season 2025/2026, indicating that the goal of the camp is to raise the readiness of the referees technically and physically, and enhancing their skills in dealing with the technique of assistant video rule (VAR).”
Al -Samahiji explained that the establishment of the camp will be conditional on the availability of an integrated training environment that includes field and physical exercises, in addition to practical applications for mouse technology, by involving referees in managing friendly matches in the country that will host the camp.
He added that the committee is in the process of holding an intensive training workshop on mouse technology, in addition to preparing for a meeting with representatives of the clubs in the Nasser Bin Hamad Football League competition, in order to review the recent amendments made by the International Football Association (FIFA) on the mechanism of using the mouse, and emphasizing the importance of cooperation between technical and referees to ensure the success of the application during the season.
The Chairman of the Referees Committee of the Bahrain Football Association revealed that the federation will send two referendums to participate in managing the qualifying matches for the Asian Cup under -23, scheduled for next September, considering this as evidence of the confidence of the AFC’s efficiency in the efficiency of Bahraini referee.
