Dr. Mohamed Tamman, Head of the Central Administration of the Antiquities of Lower Egypt, headed at the head of an engineering archaeological committee to the city of Samanoud in Gharbia Governorate, after the collapse of the minaret of the Sidi Salama Mosque.
Dr. Mohamed Tamman explained that the committee is conducting a comprehensive examination of the place and interfering immediately to ward off the risks and take all necessary measures urgently to protect and preserve the archaeological buildings in the surrounding area, in addition to preparing a detailed technical report to determine the causes of the collapse and present it to the permanent committee for Islamic and Coptic antiquities in its next meeting to take the necessary measures regarding this matter.
The Ministry of Tourism refers the incident to investigation
It also referred the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to investigate the Public Prosecution.
