The General Authority of Alexandria Port received a high -level delegation from the Republic of Sierra Leone, headed by Mr. Al -Haji Vandi Turai, Minister of Transport and Aviation, with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations and exchanging experiences in the field of maritime transport and ports development.

This visit, which is the third from the Srioni side to the port of Alexandria, comes as a continuation of a path of growing relations between the two countries, where the port received two former delegations in March 2023 and September 2024, one of them culminated in the signing of an important memorandum of understanding between the ministries of transport in the two countries.
During this visit, the Seriali side expressed its aspiration to enhance cooperation aspects and benefit from the successful Egyptian experience in the areas of maritime transport, the development of ports, investment, and exchange of experiences.
The visit witnessed an extensive talks session that included a presentation from the Egyptian side on the General Authority of Alexandria Port, which included a detailed explanation of the most prominent projects and developments in the port, its logistical importance and its pivotal role in the regional and international trade system, within the vision of the transformation to the “Grand Port of Alexandria” as the Gate of the continent of Africa towards the world, and the point of civilization and trade meeting between the continents.
The talks also dealt with a number of promising areas of cooperation, most notably training, human capacity building, digital transformation, environmental protection, raising the efficiency of operational operations, as well as discussing investment opportunities in the field of ports and internal waterways in Sierra Leone, industrial and commercial integration, and strengthening partnerships between the public and private sectors, as well as exchanging experiences in the field of marine safety and marine labor.
After the talks, the delegation made a field tour inside the port of Alexandria, which included a visit to the Historical Port Museum, the Marine Passenger Station, the commercial sidewalks, and the Live Egypt multi -purpose station, where modern technologies, operational operations and executive procedures applied to raise the efficiency of performance in the port.
