Bahrain bid farewell to a man of its men, one of the sons of this country who never knew but giving and giving, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Hamoud bin Sabah Al Khalifa bid farewell to us, the man who carried in his heart the warmth of the father, the truth of the friend, the prestige of the wise, and the simplicity of the lover.
Sheikh Muhammad was not a passing figure in society, but rather one of the pillars of Riffa, and a beating heart from the hearts of Bahrain. Everyone who knew him, knows his kindness, his smile that does not leave his face, and his humility that breaks all the barriers, and makes the old and the small feel like he is between his family and his people.
His father’s council, may God have mercy on him, was a luminous beacon in the history of Bahrain, specifically in Riffa, and Sheikh Muhammad, may God have mercy on him, carried this legacy in all honesty and sincerity. The council was not merely a tradition, but rather a covenant that was raised on it, so he was keen that his father’s council remain full of loyalty, preserve their faces, follow their conditions, and sit between them as if one of them was. His father’s friends were honest in his neck, and he was keen on their presence, asking about them, as if he said: “My father did not leave you with your presence.”
Sheikh Muhammad was never far from people. On the contrary, he harnessed himself for those who went to his door, and he was a help and support for everyone who needed him. His house was not closed in the face of anyone, and his voice was not aware of anyone. Rather, it was an example of a man who combines prestige and love, and between wisdom and simplicity.
When you look at his children, you see a living extension of his values and principles. He left a legacy of men who walk with a steady pace on his way, God willing, carrying his features, his creation, and his soul. This is the true legacy: men continue to carry the message, and they complete the path.
Cornerstone
Bahrain’s elders were never in isolation from their community, but rather they were always a living part of their tissues. They did not hide behind the titles, and they were not isolated behind offices or protocols, but they went to the people, sat with them, spoke in their language, and wiped their hearts with the truth of the word and the warmth of the presence. They were the sense of society, its conscience, and its pure, sincere voice. Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdullah – may God have mercy on him – was one of the most prominent of this proximity; With his humility, smile, and loyalty to people and their councils.
His prestige was not in the position, but rather in the effect he left in the hearts, and his position was not built on the distance, but rather proximity and honesty. His departure is not only the loss of a man … but a farewell to a corner stone of the authentic values of Bahrain.
May God have mercy on the deceased, and make him dwell in his spacious gardens, and made his children and his family the best successor to the best predecessor.
