This morning, the Consumer Protection Agency launched an expanded control campaign, in the Cairo Governorate, targeting the major warehouses in the Al -Basatin neighborhood in Cairo Governorate, to recycle electrical appliances in the Al -Basatin neighborhood in Cairo Governorate, using the names of the major brands traded in the markets, and seizing 1463 electrical appliances recycled, in violation of safety requirements, or obtaining a license from brand owners, and brand owners, Anonymous goods circulated in the markets harmful to the security and safety of consumers, as well as harm to the economic entities inside the Egyptian state.
Consumer protection: setting a store for recycling electrical appliances using damaged devices used in orchards
This comes, based on the intense investigations and information received by the General Administration of Investigations in the device, with the presence of one of the non -licensed establishments, recycling electrical appliances using damaged and used devices with some adjustments and paints, and put them in the markets again as new, in the area of Al -Basatin neighborhood in Cairo Governorate, using the names of the famous brands circulating in the markets, and controlling 1463 Recycled electrical appliances between (refrigerators / gaskets / air conditioners / washing machines ….) in preparation for re -offering them on the markets for consumers under the names of the famous brands.
Immediately, after the legalization of legal procedures, an expanded regulatory campaign was launched by the General Administration of Investigations of the Consumer Protection Agency, to target the facility in question, and to confront the facility’s organizers regarding the licenses necessary to use the names of brands in re -assembling the devices, approved the absence of any licenses, and they confessed to their ownership of the facility and seizures, and by using them using damaged and other devices Used and made some improvements and put them in the markets, as well as the circulation of unknown goods on which data is written on the truth, which poses a serious risk to the security and safety of citizens, and harm to the national economy.
They also stated that they used the names of major brands circulating in the market without permission or licensing from companies that owe these signs, with the aim of deceiving and misleading consumers and achieving illegal profits, as well as using a large number of forged energy efficiency cards and without obtaining permission or license from the Public Authority for Standardization and Quality.
The efforts of the supervisory campaign today resulted in the seizure of 1463 varied electrical apparatus between (refrigerators / gaskets / air conditioners / washing machines …….) for trading in the markets, as well as controlling the tools used in the final packaging with a total number of 1560 posters with energy efficiency with a non -truth and without a statement from (the General Authority for Standardization and Quality) and in violation of the decision issued by the Minister of Trade and Industry No. 912 of 2017, the number of 1500 posters written on it the product use, and the number (1) is a compassor to spray the body of the electrical appliances, and the number of 2 large oxygen cylinders, as well as managing a facility without a license using the names of major brands traded in the markets, and immediately and after codifying the necessary procedures, a report of the mentioned incident was edited and the violator was referred to the Public Prosecution.
This comes in implementation of the directives of the Prime Minister regarding the intensification of the state’s regulatory efforts in controlling markets, pursuing illegal fake entities, preventing any negative practices harmful to the health and safety of the consumer, as well as addressing all manifestations of commercial fraud and preventing the circulation of unknown and non -source goods that are not identical to the security and safety of citizens, and the enforcement of the law towards violators.
