The American Embassy in Yemen praised the success of the security authorities in thwarting the smuggling of 15,920 Karagon tablets through the border deposit port with Saudi Arabia, as part of the efforts to combat the illegal Houthis activities that threaten the stability of the region.
The operation, led by Colonel Omar Ghaithan, revealed the drugs hidden in women’s clothes buttons in a car coming from the Houthi -controlled areas.
Analysts considered the operation a strong blow to the group, especially after the seizure of an Iranian arms shipment a few days ago. Yemenis see that the Captagon industry may have moved to Yemen after the fall of the Assad regime in Syria.
The American embassy confirmed its support for Yemen’s efforts to combat smuggling and defend its sovereignty.
