A scientific plan for safe dealing with stray dogs
The Governor of Assiut explained that he commissioned Dr. Mina Imad, Deputy Governor, in the presence of an expanded meeting that included a group of academics and specialists from the university and the governorate, in the presence of Dr. Mahmoud Abdel -Alim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Madiha Darwish, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Doub Saber, Dean of the Faculty of Law, and Dr. Mahmoud Mustafa, Director of the Veterinary Medicine Hospital, along with the agents of the Ministries of Health and Agriculture, and a number of leaderships Executive, with the aim of studying the phenomenon and setting realistic and sustainable executive mechanisms to deal with it.
Major General Hisham Abu Al -Nasr stressed that facing this phenomenon requires responsibility scientific solutions, without prejudice to environmental and human values, stressing the importance of enhancing coordination between the various concerned authorities, including Assiut University, the health and agricultural directorates, civil societies and civil society institutions, in a manner that ensures an integrated and balanced treatment that guarantees the safety of citizens and preserves the environment.
The governor pointed out that the meeting ended with several important recommendations, the most prominent of which is the activation of the technical committee concerned with confronting this phenomenon in accordance with the provisions of the executive regulations issued by Prime Minister Decision No. 1731 of 2025, in addition to inviting civil societies and civil society organizations concerned to provide implementable executive proposals, in coordination with the Ministry of Social Solidarity, as well as the formation of a joint committee from the university and the governorate to follow up the implementation of procedures on the ground.
The Governor of Assiut added that the integration between official, scientific and societal efforts represents the basis in the face of issues with human, health and environmental dimensions, noting that the start of serious dialogue and thoughtful planning is the curriculum adopted by the province in its various development files.
