Engineer Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, held an important meeting with a high -level delegation from the Chinese company “Asia Potash”, which included Upo Paullet, Vice President of the company, Mr. Liu Xiawish, Director of Investment, Tan Shingan, Director of Administrative Affairs, and Chang Guangui, a geological engineer, within the framework of the activities of the Egypt International Mining Forum 2025.
A Chinese company shows its interest in pumping new investments in the potash and phosphate industry in Egypt
The delegation of the Chinese company at the beginning of the meeting expressed their happiness to participate in the forum, stressing the depth of historical relations between Egypt and China, and their keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of mining.
The delegation reviewed the company’s strategy, which pumps investments estimated at about $ 2.7 billion in the potash industry, noting the interest of “Asia Potash” in investing in the Egyptian market, because of Egypt’s promising reserves of phosphates and potash, as well as its unique geographical location.
For his part, Eng. Karim Badawi stressed that the Egyptian -Chinese relations are witnessing a remarkable development at various levels, pointing to the presence of many Chinese companies that work successfully in the Egyptian market in various fields, and he explained that the mining sector in Egypt is full of promising investment opportunities, in light of the availability of qualified infrastructure and logistical, in addition to that Egypt is a gateway to regional and global markets, in order to attract the materials and manufacture them locally To maximize the added value and achieve a joint economic return.
The minister also pointed to Egypt’s interest in green energy projects, such as the production of green ammonia, which opens new horizons for cooperation with international partners with financing and technological experiences and capabilities.
