The investigation authorities in the city of Hurghada decided to renew the imprisonment of the captain of the submarine of the tourist trips, which were drowned in Hurghada during the month of March, for a period of 15 days pending investigations into the case, taking into account the renewal of the prescribed legal dates.

The decision came days after the competent agencies received the technical report prepared from a specialized engineering committee on the causes and circumstances of the accident.
The statements of the captain of the submarine stable in the investigations of the investigation authorities came that the water entered the submarine before they moved from the marine platform or operated it and that the passengers were in the entry stage of the submarine and that he rescued and removed a large number of passengers from inside the submarine and that the last of those who came out from inside the submarine after the water was flooded and the vision was not visible inside it.
Details of the incident are due, when the Red Sea Governorate Operations Center received a report stating that a tourist submarine was drowned in the marina designated in front of a famous hotel in Hurghada.
It turned out that the submarine was carrying 50 passengers of different nationalities on board, with 5 Egyptian individuals, the submarine crew, in addition to 45 different nationalities between Russian, Indian, Norwegian and Swedish.
The efforts of the concerned authorities succeeded in transferring 29 injured to hospitals, including 6 deaths from “Russian” foreign and the return of the rest of the survivors to their residence hotels after their health improved, and there are no missing.
A specialized technical committee from the officials of the Marine Safety Authority in Alexandria had handed over the investigation authorities its technical report on the technical examination of the sunken submarine and the statement of the causes and circumstances of the submarine drowning accident.
