A recent study conducted by researchers from the College of Graduate Studies for Science and Engineering at the Japanese University of Kwance Jacquin, revealed that a virtual reality video game may help in improving the vision of users, unlike what is common about the effect of screens on the eye, according to Olyse Central.
According to the study, which included only ten participants, volunteers were asked to practice a simple virtual reality game periodically over a period of six weeks, with the aim of measuring any improvement in their visual ability.
The results showed that even those who played the game only every three days, noticed a noticeable improvement in vision compared to their condition at the beginning of the experiment.
The game depends on the principle of visual exercises, where the players are directed to shoot goals that gradually move back after each successful injury, forcing the eyes to the continuous switch between the near and far vision – a movement that contributes to extending the ciliary muscles inside the eye, which often shrinks as a result of the long use of digital devices.
It is noteworthy that ophthalmologists differentiate between real and last false alert shortness caused by digital stress and non -surgical treatment, which the game seems to target, and the researchers have noted that the participants who were suffering from medium to severe degrees from myopia who benefited more than the experiment were more likely that they were suffering from false shortcuts.
The team is currently planning to expand the scope of the study, in the hope of developing the game as a therapeutic tool that can help millions of people, especially young people, who have become a phone and mobile devices an integral part of their diaries.
