Based on the strategy and plan of the Children’s Rights Commissioner for the year 2024-2025, the National Human Rights Corporation launched the (influential children’s rights leaders) program under the slogan (You are entitled to you) organized by the Foundation in cooperation with Franklin Kofi Education Company – Middle East and the initiative of smile and mosquitoes of Al -Kooheji charitable, in the presence of Eng. Ali Ahmed Al -Darazi, head of the National Human Rights Corporation, and d. Houria Al -Dairi, the Commissioner for the Rights of the Child and a number of members of the Board of Commissioners, the Friends of the Children’s Rights Commission, and the group of volunteer experts, at the institution’s headquarters.
Engineer Ali Ahmed Al -Darazi, head of the Foundation, delivered a welcome speech in which he welcomed the attendees and praised the effective role played by the Children’s Rights Commissioner and the Child Rights Team in promoting the culture of human rights among children. And proposing the appropriate amendments, in addition to field visits to the centers of reform, rehabilitation and educational and health role, in addition to cooperation with national and international bodies, holding conferences and events and writing specialized reports.
The head of the Foundation stressed the importance of children in this program, as they represent the voice of their peers in various issues that affect their rights, and that the Foundation is committed to providing the necessary training and support for them to enable them to express their opinions and active participation in the formulation of relevant policies, and stressed that the doors of the institution are open to children to hear their ideas and proposals, pointing to organizing a series of field visits to the friends of the Children’s Rights For a number of official and diplomatic authorities, with the aim of introducing them to the roles of these bodies in protecting and promoting the rights of the child, and the seven customs program for influential child rights will be organized, which aims to enable the participants to become influential in the field of children’s rights.
The event witnessed a number of awareness and interactive paragraphs that aim to consolidate the principles of human rights and the mechanisms of support and protection of the child, as was the official announcement of the officials of Salem and Sharifa, two symbolic characters, where (Salem) embodies the child who is aware of his rights and committed to his duties, while (Sherifa) embodies the conscious child, to contribute effectively to the service of her community.
At the end of the event, an interactive public debate was held on the most prominent challenges related to the rights of the child, in which the attendees of the Children’s Rights Commissioner participated.
