On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump attacked the correspondent of “CNN” Natasha Bertrand, after publishing the first report on the intelligence assessment of the impact of the American strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
“Natasha Bertrand must be expelled from CNN, I saw it for three days as she publishes false news … it must be reprimanded immediately, then expelled like a dog.”
Trump accused the American correspondence of lying and publishing inaccurate information about Iranian nuclear sites, adding that she “seeks to discredit the pilots who have carried out a successful task.”
Trump described Bertrand as “not eligible to appear on the screen,” saying it was “one of the people who destroyed the reputation of a network that was previously great.”
Bertrand was the first to reveal the American intelligence evaluation of the damage to Iran’s three nuclear facilities, after the strikes that started on June 13 and targeted sensitive sites in Tehran and other regions, and resulted in the killing of Iranian military leaders and scientists.
It is noteworthy that Bertrand, 33, works as a political reporter with the CNN station, and has previously covered the war in Ukraine and in Gaza.
For its part, CNN replied with a statement via the X platform, in which she confirmed its full support for Petrand and its reports, and said: “We support 100 percent of Natasha’s press, especially its coverage of the American attack on Iranian nuclear facilities.”
The network pointed out that the report is based on “initial, updated results”, stressing that the transfer of such assessments falls within a “legitimate public interest.”
