«EPA» | US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that the United States signed, on Wednesday, an agreement with China related to trade, but it did not specify the contents of this agreement.
This statement came during a speech delivered on an event at the White House aimed at promoting a draft law for government spending, which Trump is seeking to pass in Congress before the July 4 holiday.
“Do you remember a few months ago, when the press said: Does any country have an interest on that?, Well, we have concluded an agreement with China yesterday (Wednesday),” Trump said.
He pointed out that his country “will not sign agreements with everyone, and will be satisfied with sending messages to some countries and telling them: Thank you very much, you will pay 25, 35 and 40% customs duties,” adding: “We have a new upcoming agreement, perhaps with India, which is large.”
On June 11, Trump announced a trade agreement with China, hours after the agreement of American and Chinese negotiators during a London meeting, on a framework that covers the issue of customs duties.
