An official source in the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said that the prices currently circulating for Umrah after the end of the Hajj season are inaccurate, stressing that the only official source of prices and controls for the implementation of Umrah programs is the decision approved by the Minister of Tourism, and no new amendments or controls were issued after the end of the Hajj season.

The source added in exclusive statements to Cairo 24, that any prices are announced on social media or through companies, without referring to the minister’s decision, as they are incorrect and do not represent the Ministry of Tourism in any way.
The source stressed that any tourist company that regulates Umrah programs and promotes prices without relying on official controls, it violates the Umrah Regulatory Law, and may be subjected to penalties that include a fine or stopping the activity.
It is noteworthy that the official prices of Umrah programs depend on the controls of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and include determining the prices according to the classification of the program, as well as obliging companies to collect the value of the program in the Egyptian pound and document the contracts through the Egyptian portal for Umrah.

In another context, Ayman Kamel, a member of the General Assembly of Tourism Companies, said that the new Umrah season will witness a fundamental change, as those wishing to perform Umrah can no longer obtain the visa separately, but rather to obtain it is conditional by paying the full cost of the trip in advance.
Kamel added in exclusive statements to Cairo 24, that, according to the new system, the pilgrim must pay the value of hotels in Makkah and Madinah, in addition to the costs of internal transportation between the two cities and visa fees, before the start of the visa procedures.
