The US State Department issued a fourth level warning, which is the highest, preventing American citizens from traveling to Iraq because of the increasing security threats.
The ministry stated that the warning comes as a result of “terrorism, armed conflict, and civil turmoil”, which pose a great threat to the safety of citizens in the country.
On June 11, 2025, the Ministry also ordered that non -primary government employees leave due to the worsening regional tensions.
The State Department calls on the Americans to avoid traveling to Iraq, whatever the reason, while emphasizing the need to follow up on security updates through the official website of the Ministry.
