One of the colleagues told me that during the period of importing living sacrifices from Australia, it was customary for shipments to accompany a number of activists in defending animal rights, in order to ensure that the sheep would be treated well.

My colleague says; In one year, I decided to buy a lively Australian sheep as a sacrifice, and to slaughter it at home, so I went to the area of the barns in a jacket, and I found a sheep with all specifications, and after I paid the price, I pulled it to put it in my car (Subar Van), but I was surprised by the objection of one of the officials in charge of protecting animal rights, explaining that the car that transports the sheep must be open.

He adds; After tightening and attracted with her, she explained to her that I would put the sheep in a covered and air -conditioned car, in order to rest his comfort, but she insisted on her position, which forced me to pay a dinar to the owner of (Bakb) to transport the sheep with other sheep, and hand them over to their owners after the main gate.

I remembered this conversation, as I watch dozens of videos documenting the sacrifice in various countries of the world, and how it is dealt with, mostly, in a spirit of humanity and mercy, as our true religion recommended us, with some unfortunate exceptions here and there, which makes us realize that we do not need someone who teaches us how to treat the sacrifice, for charity to it is the core of the teachings of Islam.

Although religious texts are clear in calling for mercy, the realistic application sometimes witnesses violations, whether in terms of transportation methods, slaughtering or even dealing with the sacrifice before, during and after the slaughter, and here comes the importance of societal awareness, and the importance of organizing the official authorities of this process in a way that preserves the dignity of the ritual, and guarantees the good treatment of the animal.

At the same time, the efforts made by many to preserve this human spirit cannot be ignored. From the choice of the sacrifice carefully, to providing her comfort, to rapid and merciful slaughter. In this context, we see that Muslims have a great spiritual and moral balance that makes them able to respect sacrifices, without the need for pressure from outside their culture and religion.

The sacrifice in its essence is a lesson in obedience, mercy and generosity, which is an annual opportunity to renew the intention, deepen the sense of others, and appreciate the blessings. And with every takbeer, it is said, and every knife challenges, and every blood is upset for the sake of God, there is a call to the humanity of rituals and return to the pure spirit of Islam.

What we need in this time to salute our rituals with charity, and to mention ourselves that our religion not only came to control the relationship between a person and his Lord, but between him and every creature.

And every year, you are a thousand good, and God accepts your obedience and your closeness.
