The winners of the “Prime Minister of the Press” award affirmed the sublime and continuous care of the national press from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, noting that the award embodies the status of the Bahraini press as an intellectual and professional tributary that contributes to the consolidation of the pillars of sustainable development.
They explained in exclusive statements to Bahrain News Agency (BNA) that the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, may God protect him, for the ninth session of the award for the year 2025, reflects his great interest in the national press and the vital role that he plays in society, noting that this prominent annual event that witnessed the participation of more than 440 press works embodies the status of the award as a national platform to motivate Excellence and enhance professional competition to serve the country and express the aspirations of citizens.
Mr. Issa Al -Shayji, President of the Bahraini Journalists Association and winner of the Personality of the Year, expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, may God protect him, for the kind support and care of the national press, appreciating the attention and follow -up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, and his highness to enhance the role of the press.
Mr. Al -Shayji emphasized that his victory in the award is a tribute to the entire press sector, and reflects the advanced position that the Bahraini press reached, noting that the Bahraini Journalists Association, which celebrates this year its silver jubilee, will continue its role in enabling media competencies, especially the youth category, and enhancing freedom of the press and high professionalism in media performance.
For his part, through Dr. Abdullah Ahmed Al -Madani, academic and journalist, for his great pride in winning the award for the best pillar of opinion, stressing that the meeting of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, may God protect him, is the supreme honor for him, and represents a culmination of a professional march that spanned more than four decades in the service of journalistic work, including 31 continuous years in the Al -Ayyam newspaper.
He expressed his deep appreciation for the support he had since his professional beginnings by a group of media professionals who had an active role in refining his experience, noting that this honor is the culmination of a careful career and an inspiring station that enhances his resolve to continue creativity and adhere to the constants of the noble media message.
In turn, journalist Ali Al -Fardan expressed his happiness at winning the award for the best journalistic investigation, stressing that this victory reflects the interest of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the role of the press in highlighting societal issues and providing professional media content that serves the public interest, noting that the award represents a double responsibility to move forward in developing journalistic performance and upgrading the level of professional work.
He pointed out the importance of keeping pace with technological developments and digital transformation in the media, while preserving professional constants and conveying the correct image of the reality of Bahraini society internally and externally, calling for enhancing cooperation between press institutions and implementing joint media projects that contribute to upgrading the national media and enhancing the public’s confidence in its credibility.
As for Mr. Faisal Al -Ali, winner of the award for the best website, he said that Al -Watan newspaper obtaining this honor is a great source of pride, adding that this precious victory reflects the continuous development in the use of media outlets and the method of directing and publishing in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that Al -Watan newspaper adopts a continuous renewal strategy that accompanies modern developments with the optimal employment of social media.
For his part, the photographer of the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Mr. Sultan Jassim Al -Haddad, the winner of the best press photo, confirmed the “Selwitte” image of Hajj during the performance of the Hajj rituals, that this award, which he receives for the second time after its session in 2021, is an affirmation of the quality of the Bahraini journalistic work and an appreciation of the field press photo, and said that this honor is a great appreciation of the Bahrain News Agency (BNA) and the Ministry of Information Photographers, calling on all photojournalists to continue to develop their business and participate in these stimulating awards.
In the same context, Mrs. Amal Al -Aradi, winner of the award for the best specialized page, said that the winning work, which is an attachment to the “lights of the country”, is characterized by its introduction to issues of concern to young people, women and Bahraini society in an innovative way, explaining the development of the attachment to become an important electronic platform that is in line with the Bahraini press towards digitization.

In turn, Mr. Ali Abdel -Khaleq, the winner of the award for the best visual content, expressed his happiness and pride in obtaining this award, indicating that his winning project, a video that highlights the efforts of the Coast Guard in the Kingdom of Bahrain, reflects the important role of the competent authorities in preserving maritime security and border security, noting that this honor reflects the support of His Highness the Crown Prince, the Prime Minister, may God protect him and motivate it to find creative ideas other than Traditional.
As for Muhammad Qasim Al -Sa’i, who won the award for the best press interview, he said that this honor is a motivation for more hard work within the professional and moral frameworks of the press, adding that the 50th anniversary of the establishment of “Gulf News” confirms the distinguished position that the Bahraini press has, stressing the role of the award in supporting media institutions and motivating them to develop to provide rich content that serves Bahraini society.
Finally, the student Noura Al -Ruwaie from the Gulf University expressed her pride in winning the award for the best student press project at the level of the Kingdom’s universities, stressing that this honor constitutes a strong motivation to continue academic and vocational excellence.
