His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine, from Ramallah today, held a meeting through visual contact, with the head and members of the ministerial committee charged with the extraordinary Arab Islamic Summit on developments in the Gaza Strip, headed by His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs Immigration and affairs of Egyptians abroad in the Arab Republic of Egypt, His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary -General of the League of Arab States.
The meeting from the Palestinian side, His Excellency Mr. Hussein Al -Sheikh, Vice -President of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Vice President of the State of Palestine, and the State of Mr. Muhammad Mustafa, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
His Excellency the Palestinian President welcomed the president and members of the committee, expressing his thanks and appreciation for the continuous efforts made by the committee, at the international level to defend the rights of the Palestinian people, expressing his appreciation for the committee’s initiative to hold this meeting, and to the brotherly brother -member states for their efforts in supporting the Palestinian issue.
His Excellency the Palestinian President expressed his aspiration for the high -level international conference on the Palestinian issue to be held in New York this year to support the Palestinian issue and mobilize international support for recognition of the independent Palestinian state.
His Excellency stressed the need to work on the ceasefire in Gaza immediately, and the need to hand over the hostages and provide relief assistance to the Palestinian people in Gaza, stressing the readiness of the Palestinian Authority to cooperate with the brothers in the Arab countries and the international community to achieve this until peace prevailed in the Gaza Strip, wishing the success and success committee in its continuous efforts.
The statement issued by the Ministerial Committee at the conclusion of the meeting indicated that the committee informed His Excellency the Palestinian President of its movements in the context of international efforts to immediately stop the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and end the siege and humanitarian catastrophe in it. The committee also surrounded its Excellency with the existing efforts in the framework of preparing for the success of the high -level international conference for the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue and implementing the two -state solution to be held in New York, headed by a joint presidency between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the French Republic during the month of June, as part of the efforts to embody the independent Palestinian state on the fourth lines of June 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The statement pointed out that His Excellency the Palestinian President valued the efforts of the ministerial committee to mobilize international support to stop the war on the Gaza Strip, end the humanitarian catastrophe in the Strip, and push the course of implementing the two state solutions. He also expressed his aspiration for the success of the high -level international conference for the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue, the implementation of a two -state solution, and the expansion of the path of recognition of the State of Palestine.
His Excellency also affirmed the Palestinian government’s commitment to its reformist program and its aspiration to combine international efforts to provide support at the political, economic and security levels in a way that enhances its reform efforts, calling on Israel to release the Palestinian money that it is holding. His Excellency also renewed the full commitment to reject violence, target civilians and strive to bring security and peace in cooperation with Arab brothers and international partners, expressing his hope that the ministerial committee will host soon on the land of Palestine.
