The Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the Investment and Technology Promotion Office of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization “UNIDO” in the Kingdom of Bahrain, held a ceremony honoring the winning schools in the sixth and seventh sessions of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Olympics and project incubators to achieve sustainable development goals, at a ceremony held at the Winddam Hotel.
She won the first three places in the sixth session, in order, schools: Isa Secondary City for Boys for the (Smart balance) project, and the industrial secondary school for boys on the (electronic irrigation) project, and the special belief in the project (Silent Expression), while in the seventh session, the first places in order won schools: Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Institute for Technology on the project (Smart Explorer), and Hadhafs Al -Sana’a Secondary for Boys on the project (bumps Green), and the special belief on the Vision Plus project.
On this occasion, Professor Nawal Ibrahim Al -Khater, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, praised this fruitful cooperation with the Investment and Technology Promotion Office of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization “UNIDO”, in implementing this initiative, which falls within the Ministry’s efforts to spread the culture of entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation in the various academic stages, for its important role in developing students ’capabilities and skills that enhance the chances of their professional success in the future, and contribute to achieving goals Sustainable development approved by the United Nations.
For its part, Professor Suha Saleh Hamada, Director General of Schools Affairs at the Ministry of Education, praised the distinguished projects provided by the participating schools in the educational, environmental, technological and other fields, which are reflected in the capabilities of their students and their passion for the entrepreneurial world, in a way that serves the comprehensive development process.
In turn, Dr. Hashem Hussein, head of the Investment and Technology Promotion Office of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), expressed his pride in the depth of the strategic partnership between the office and the Ministry of Education, which extends for more than twenty years, pointing to the admiration of experts and specialists for the qualitative tenders of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of scientific innovations and initiatives supporting students in the field of students Entrepreneurship, which reflects the size of the effort made by the ministry in this vital field.
Dr. Amal Al -Jowder, an expert in the “UNIDO” office, also presented an introductory presentation on the program that started its first session in the 2018/2019 academic year, in conjunction with the celebration of the centenary of education in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and witnessed from its launch to this day the participation of 3661 students of public and private schools, to contribute to preparing prominent national competencies in the areas of creativity and entrepreneurship, and to enhance the skills of social media and critical thinking Other, it offers a model platform for reviewing projects consistent with sustainable development goals.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, an exhibition of the best school projects participating in the two sessions was held, as well as the presentation of a short film that highlights the initiative, in addition to honoring Al -Kawaji charitable and supportive authorities
