Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Sports, congratulated the Egyptian Federation of Weapons headed by Captain Tariq Al -Husseini and the Egyptian weapons players after achieving a great achievement by controlling the table of medals in the African Championship held in the Nigerian city of Lagos during the period from 25 to 29 June, with 21 various medals.

In a statement, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi stressed that this achievement reflects the boom witnessed by the Egyptian sport with the support of the political leadership, noting that the Ministry continues to support sports federations to achieve more achievements at the continental and international levels.
The Minister of Sports also stressed the continued support of the Ministry of Sports Federations in the context of preparations for the Olympic Games 2028, and to achieve the goals of the state’s strategy in raising Egypt’s name on international coronation platforms.
Egypt’s heroes and heroes achieved 11 gold medals, 5 silver and 5 bronzes, to confirm their continental superiority in the game, and continue to win continental achievements.
The last day of the tournament witnessed the crowning of Egypt with three new gold medals, as the Shish Weapon team won the men’s gold medal after defeating the Angola team in the final match.
The Saif team won the women’s fencing with the gold of the teams after its victory over Algeria, and the sword weapon team for women also achieved the gold medal after its victory over its Algerian counterpart in an exciting final, to dominate all the gold medals in the teams’ competitions.
The list of the shish weapons team for men included the players: Mohamed Hamza, Abdul Rahman Tolba, Saif Al -Ghayesh, Karim Medhat.
While I participated in the list of the ladies of the sword of the fencing: Nardin Ehab, Aya Sharif, Sherwit Jaber, Lulwa Suleiman, and the team of the Women of the Sword Player included: Nada Hafez, Najwa Nofal, Renad Al -Dakish, and Anoud Hazem.
The Egyptian team’s mission was chaired by Captain Ayman Mounir, the first vice president of the Egyptian Weapon Federation, while the technical and administrative staff included: Mr. Sami (the coach of the sword of the fencing), Maher Hamza (the coach of the Shish weapon), Khaled Sharif (the coach of the sword weapon), Ayman Ghoneim (administrative director), and the referee Mazen Al -Shabouri, and Rana Al -Husseini.
The mission was also accompanied by the medical device that included Dr. Magdy El -Sabbagh, Chairman of the Federation’s Medical Committee, Dr. Ahmed Abdel -Ghani, a physiotherapist, and Dr. Ghada Atef, a kinetic rehabilitation specialist.
