The Minister of Environment with regard to the hardship of financing, that to reach an ambitious agreement that helps to move forward, requires a financing mechanism capable of achieving its goals, not only to provide funding available from public financing, international resources and the private sector, but it means providing financing for technology and finding appropriate plastic alternatives, with the fulfillment of developed countries by their obligations in public financing so that they do not put a new burden on developing countries in financing facing confronting environmental challenges Various as climate and biological diversity in light of the increased severity of these challenges.

Dr. Yasmine Fouad confirmed that the meeting discusses negotiating efforts from countries; To create a global treaty for plastic pollution (INC); And work to unify global efforts to confront this salt challenge to preserve health and the environment, as the conference is an important station that aims to mobilize the visions and needs of countries in preparation for the Fifth negotiating round in Inc5 to be held in Geneva in August 2025, especially in light of the negotiation process to develop a global treaty for plastic pollution (INC) at the meeting of the United Nations Environment Association in March 2022 and not to reach An agreement, as planned, in the fifth negotiation session in December 2024.

Dr. Yasmine Fouad explained that the agreement to develop a global treaty for plastic pollution will show the effectiveness of the multilateral system and the ability of the United Nations to develop an international instrument to address a global environmental problem, pointing out that in order to complete the drafting of the treaty, a common ground must be found on the basic elements of the three most controversial materials, which are chemical products and materials, consumption and sustainable production, financing, and that Before the negotiating session in a sufficient time, in light of the approaching date of the fifty -second session of the Joint International Committee.

It is worth noting that the United Nations Oceanic Conference aims to accelerate work in order to preserve the oceans and seas, and enhance their use in a sustainable way, in a way that contributes to achieving the sustainable development goals, as it seeks to develop ocean sciences and knowledge related to the oceans at the heart of global work.
