Mr. Youssef bin Abdul Hussein Khalaf, Minister of Legal Affairs, Minister of Labor of the Agency, announced that the Ministry of Labor will begin the application of Ministerial Resolution No. (3) of 2013, amended by Resolution No. (11) of 2025, regarding the prohibition of work at noon, which prohibits the employment of workers whose nature of their work requires being in the sun and in open places from 12 noon until 4 pm during the period from June 15 to September 15.
The Minister affirmed that the extension of the ban period from this year for three months instead of two months, reflects the commitment of the Kingdom of Bahrain to continue to develop national legislation and relevant ministerial decisions, in a way that enhances occupational health and safety in work sites and protect the workforce from the risks of summer diseases.
He pointed out that the implementation of this decision comes within the framework of the Ministry of Labor’s keenness to enhance the safe work environment, protect workers and secure their safety from heat stress, sun strikes, various summer diseases, and reduce professional accidents, during this period of the year, which witnesses a noticeable increase in temperature rates and humidity ratios.
The ministerial decision regarding the prohibition of work at noon stipulates that “everyone who violates the provisions of this decision shall be punished with the penalties stipulated in Article (192) of Law No. (36) of 2012 with the issuance of the Labor Law in the private sector, which states that” everyone who violates any of the provisions of Chapter Five and the decisions issued in implementation of him in imprisonment for a period not exceeding three months, and a fine of no less than five hundred dinars and no more than a thousand dinars These two penalties. “
