The Kingdom of Bahrain wins the non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council for the period (2026-2027)

His Excellency Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, raised the highest verses of congratulations and blessings to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Great Country, may God protect him and his sponsors, and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, and to the people of the Kingdom, on the occasion of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s improper membership in the UN Security Council for the period from (2026-2027), in the elections that took place today in the general assembly United at the United Nations headquarters in New York, with a number of votes of 186 votes out of 187 votes, by 99.5 percent of the vote.

On this occasion, Dr. Abdullatif Al -Zayani stated that this prominent achievement, and the percentage of voting that the Bahrain Kingdom in the polls obtained expresses the confidence and appreciation of the countries of the world to the Kingdom of Bahrain and its external policy based on mutual respect, constructive cooperation and positive interaction, led by His Majesty the King of the country, may God protect and preserve him, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, the Prime Minister, may God protect him, as it is a clear confession. The constant commitment of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the values ​​of peace, stability and cooperation, as well as its intention to contribute to the active contribution to the preservation of international peace and security.

He added that the Kingdom of Bahrain, in light of the great challenges that the world is witnessing, is committed to teamwork with all members of the Council, and with all member states of the United Nations, in order to promote peace and stability in our region and the whole world, support pluralism, and consolidate the principles of the United Nations Charter.

He said that the approach of the Kingdom of Bahrain during its membership in the Security Council will direct the basic values ​​that it adopts and represented in dialogue, coexistence, mutual respect, and building consensus, in addition to its endeavor to be a voice of diplomacy, a bridge for understanding, and a defender of solutions that reflect the aspirations of peoples towards a future of peace, stability and prosperity.

He pointed out that the Kingdom is fully aware of the grave responsibility that the Security Council membership involves, and will participate in the work of the Council with sincerity and sincere determination to defend the principles that bring us together with the countries of the world.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed the aspiration for close cooperation and construction with all members of the Security Council and the broader international community during the membership period, thanking the United Nations member states for its confidence in granting the Kingdom of Bahrain this honor and this responsibility.

His Excellency the Minister also expressed his thanks and gratitude for the permanent mission of the Kingdom in New York headed by Ambassador Jamal Al -Ruwaie, the permanent representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York, and all officials and specialists in the ministry and members of the mission for their work in the spirit of the Bahrain team, praising their concrete efforts and the distinguished diplomatic work they did in order to reach this important stage in the record of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of success and Bahraini diplomacy Distinguished by effectiveness and high performance.

On this occasion, the Foreign Minister received the congratulations of the heads of sisterly Arab delegations and friendly countries that participated in the voting process, expressing their wishes for the Kingdom for success and success during its membership in the Security Council.
