The Jordanian monarch, King Abdullah II, held today, Tuesday, a session of talks with Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun, who is currently visiting Jordan, which dealt with ways to enhance relations between the two countries, and the most prominent developments in the region.
The two sides, according to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), affirmed their pride in the relations that bring together the two countries, and the importance of continuing to build on them to serve common interests and Arab issues, and achieve the stability of the region.
The talks touched on the importance of increasing the volume of trade exchange between the two countries and enhancing joint investments, especially in the energy, electricity and infrastructure sectors.
The Jordanian monarch reaffirmed Jordan’s standing alongside Lebanon in its efforts to maintain its security, stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The two sides stressed the need for the immediate end of the war on Gaza, ensuring that the flow of sufficient humanitarian aid to all regions, their rejection of any plans to displace the Palestinians, and the need to intensify Arab and international efforts to reach a fair and comprehensive peace on the basis of the two -state solution.
