The Bahraini Paralympic Committee held its regular public association for the year 2025, headed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Bahraini Paralympic Committee, and in the presence of members of the Board of Directors and a number of sports personalities and those interested in sporting people with determination, in a move aimed at enhancing its sporting and administrative career, as the association witnessed the discussion of many important axes that support the committee’s vision and future goals.
This association has gained its importance from being a comprehensive review platform for the performance of the committee, as new members of the Board of Directors were elected, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Bahraini Paralympic Committee.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa emphasized the readiness for the coming period, which includes prominent sports stations, whether in terms of participation in the Asian Youth Games in Dubai and the West Asian Games in Muscat and other sporting events, or by participating in regional and international championships. His Excellency pointed out that the next stage requires more coordination, integration of efforts and work in the spirit of the team, in a way that enhances the committee’s readiness and technical and administrative teams to achieve the best results.
His Excellency pointed out that the General Assembly represents an important station for evaluating performance, and reviewing the achievements made during the year, as well as drawing a clear road map for the next stage, in a way that supports the goals of the committee in enabling athletes with determination and achieving more successes in regional and international forums, based on the principles of transparency and collective participation.
During the ordinary general assembly of the Bahraini Paralympic Committee, Ali Muhammad Al -Majid, Secretary -General of the Committee, presided over the election process that resulted in recommending members of the General Assembly, namely: Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa (Bahrain Cycling), Sheikh Sultan bin Duaij Al Khalifa (Bahrain Federation for Disabled Sports), Noman Rashid Al Hassan (Bahraini Naval Sports Federation), d. Sawsan Haji strengthens (the Bahraini Federation of Featory Featist and Squash), Ruqaya Al -Ghassra (the Bahraini Athletics Federation), Mr. Isaac Ibrahim Ishaq (the Bahraini Weightlifting Federation), Maryam Fouad Shehab (the Bahraini Federation for Deaf Sports), Miss Fajr Al -Binali (the Bahraini Combat Games).
Al -Majid stressed that the General Assembly represents a vital platform for exchanging experiences and unifying efforts to develop the sport of people with determination in the Kingdom, stressing the importance of investing in competencies, expanding partnerships, and developing infrastructure in line with national goals.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Salman Al Khalifa, Executive Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs, also presented a proposed budget for 2026, within the framework of strengthening the principles of governance and financial transparency, and creating the necessary resources to support future initiatives and programs efficiently and sustains.
During the association, the policies that will direct the work of the committee in the next stage were identified, ensuring that its lofty goals are achieved in supporting and developing Paralympic sport in Bahrain. The proposed budget for the coming year was also discussed to ensure financial transparency and good resource management.
The association concluded its work by emphasizing the continuation of teamwork, and supporting the ambitious plans of the Bahraini Paralympic Committee to achieve more successes at the regional and international levels.
