The Gender Balance Committee in the House of Representatives, headed by Dr. Yasser Saqr Al -Shirawi, Assistant Secretary -General for Resources and Services, held a joint meeting today with the Gender Balance Committee in the Shura Council, headed by Dr. Fawzia Youssef Al -Jib, Advisor to the Speaker Their goals aimed at enhancing the principle of gender balance in the two general secretariats of the two councils, and integrating the needs of women within the paths of national development.
During the meeting, the president and members of the two committees expressed their praise for the support and attention that His Excellency the Chief of Shura and Representatives, in addition to the Secretary -General of the two councils, in activating the strategies, plans and initiatives supporting the efforts to enhance the status and progress of Bahraini women in various fields, especially in the parliamentary field, and highlight the pioneering role that it plays at the local and international levels, under the era Al -Zahir to His Majesty the Great King, may God protect and preserve him, and with the follow -up of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, the Prime Minister, may God protect him, in line with the national plans and strategies launched by the Supreme Council for Women headed by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the wife of the country’s great country, may God protect him.
During the meeting, the two committees also reviewed a number of proposals to be implemented during the coming period, which aims to support the common goals in the field of promoting and spreading a culture of gender balance among employees of the two public secretariats in the two councils, as well as achieving balance in various functional fields, taking into account the qualitative needs of women working in the two legislative institutions.
