The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the facilitation of the return of all citizens who are stranded abroad who expressed their desire to return to the homeland, from countries affected by the current conditions, after opening the entire or partial airspace in these countries.
The facilitation of citizens’ return came in implementation of the high directives from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, may God protect and preserve him, and to enforce the order of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him.
Where the last two planes belonging to the lines of the Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, arrived from the Republic of Turkmenistan, with 203 citizens on board their return from the Islamic Republic of Iran to the homeland.
It was also secured and facilitated the return of 103 citizens from various countries that were affected after the closure of their air field.
The facilities of the return of citizens from abroad, which were carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, included 2586 citizens, whose return was secured to the Kingdom of Bahrain from the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Iraq, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Republic of Armenia, by harnessing 9 aircraft belonging to the Gulf Air, and 37 buses by land.
In this context, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would like to express its thanks and appreciation for the diplomatic missions of the Gulf Cooperation Council states, for its cooperation and support for efforts to facilitate the return of citizens from the affected countries, the brothers in the Republic of Iraq, and the Republic of Turkmenistan, whose efforts contributed to facilitating the affairs of Bahraini citizens who are stranded, and facilitating procedures through border outlets.
